A DISPLAY SPACE IN THE HEART OF JAPAN
Nagoya, Japan – Laminam, world leader in the large ceramic surface sector, is proud to announce the opening of its new showroom in Nagoya, its third in Japan after those in Tokyo and Osaka. With total floor space of 285 m², it is Laminam’s largest showroom in the Land of the Rising Sun.
The choice of Nagoya is a strategic one, based primarily on the industrial and economic dynamism of the city, which is now one of the three largest metropolitan areas in Japan. Home to major brands in the automotive, aerospace and electronics industry, Nagoya is located in a key position for the country’s development network. Strengthening this central positioning is the upcoming completion of the new “super-fast” rail line, scheduled for 2027, which will significantly reduce travel times to Tokyo (from 1 h 40 min to 40 min), creating a single, easily accessible economic zone.
The new Japanese showroom falls within a clear strategy of internationalization which has led Laminam to build numerous sales offices, logistics hubs, and showrooms all around the world over the years, with the goal of bringing the brand closer to customers and increasing frequency of contact with them, providing ever-better and more direct management of key markets.
The company’s significant investments in its sales force, above all abroad, are expanding and strengthening its go-to-market strategy.
Laminam Innovation and Design in the Heart of Nagoya
The new Nagoya showroom – designed by Polish architectural practice JMW Architekci, who also designed Laminam’s Warsaw showroom, alongside VOID, an international practice based in Japan – is destined to become a benchmark for professionals in the design and architectural sectors, offering the most extensive display of Laminam products in Japan.
With a complete overview of the company’s Italian designed and manufactured collections, visitors will be able to view and touch the various product applications: from flooring and wall cladding to kitchen and bathroom countertops, and even tabletops.
A Multifunctional Space in Dialog with the City
Showing off products, but also meeting, communicating with and listening to people: this is the goal behind the showroom design, which has resulted in the creation of a dynamic environment in continuous communication with customers and residents.
This is evidenced by the large windows which allow for continuous interaction between the inside and outside. In the same manner that passers-by are attracted by the embellishments inside the display space, those who enter the showroom can admire the hustle and bustle of the Japanese metropolis outside the windows.
In order to further emphasize a unique and immersive sensory experience, and to further enhance and accentuate the numerous finishes of Laminam surfaces, the showroom has been equipped with a dimmable lighting system which allows the evocative visual effects of the light on the slabs to be appreciated.
Presentation of the new "twO by LAMINAM” brand
The showroom’s event schedule is already full, starting with a special event for the presentation of twO by Laminam, the new brand for the world’s thinnest revolutionary surfaces. The twO surface is created with recycled and totally recyclable materials, and its use and production have a positive impact on the entire value chain. The slim thickness – just 2 mm – enables use of less raw material and optimization of the entire lifecycle of the product: the firing phase is faster and performed using hybrid (electric/gas) kilns partly powered by the Fiorano Modenese solar PV system, and fewer transport journeys are required thanks to the significantly lower overall weight. The previously impossible bend radii achievable on installation expand the potential applications for the slabs, while retaining the technical surface characteristics typical of other sizes.
Visitors to the Nagoya showroom will be able to discover the new twO collections unveiled this year at the Salone del Mobile and Cersaie exhibitions.
The presentations of twO will continue in the Tokyo and Osaka showrooms.
The Inauguration
In the period between 30 September – the showroom’s opening day – and 26 October – the date of the presentation of the twO brand – the new showroom opened its doors to around 280 visitors.
Laminam’s CEO Alberto Selmi delineated the present and future of the company, laying out a clear vision based on the pillars of innovation and sustainability, currently best represented by the twO brand, in the presence of Matteo Messori – Laminam Sales Director Asia Pacific/Middle East – all Laminam Japan employees, and around 80 selected guests.
Thanking the attendees, the President of Laminam Japan, Shigeru Matsushita, concluded by promising continuous updates on information, products and news from the company.
