WINTER ESCAPE TO THE MOUNTAINS

To get away from the quotidian hustle and bustle, take a break, and give yourself some quality time away from the daily grind.

Where to? Well, given the season, to the mountains – to get away even just for a few days, ready to rediscover more natural rhythms and your sense of wonder by immersing yourself in the gleam of the most enchanting period of the year.

Here we are then, so close to the peaks which stand against the horizon like silent giants, cloaked in a glistening white coat which twinkles in the light of the sunset. Every breath fills your chest with pure, fresh, icy-cold air, redolent with the odors of pine needles and wood smoke rising from the chimneys of the houses nearby.

The world seems to slow down, yet at the same time become fuller, beneath that cobalt sky in which the first stars are lighting up, like little crystals in the silky velvet of the night.

Legno Venezia, for example, the collection inspired by the Venetian Briccole, navigational structures made from oak piles. They are thus of course associated with the sea, but they are only possible thanks to the wood from the oak forests which extend inland and cover the peaks with green.

Or the Ossido collection, which reproduces the oxidation process of sheet metal, immortalizing the most splendid moment of color. A miracle of unexpected lights and iridescence, time crystallizes in the point where its workings have been able to give the best of it.

And we can’t forget I Naturali, the Laminam collection which more than any other represents an authentic journey through the great stones of Italian architectural tradition: the solidity of Carrara marble, the malleability of travertine, the chromatic uniformity of volcanic rock …

It is the same collection which embellishes the surfaces of ​​Attico Courmayeur, the interior design project by internilab which we unhesitatingly choose as symbolic of our current mood – pining for a winter escape!

A world-famous skiing destination, Courmayeur is a snowy jewel at the foot of Mont Blanc, nestled in a spectacular setting composed of coniferous forests, mountains, and glaciers.

The interior of Attico Courmayeur perfectly reproduces this enchantment, thanks to the extensive presence of natural wood used both on the walls and in the furniture, and the expert alternation of squared, minimalist forms, and archetypical influences in the accessories.

A stand-out feature in this setting suspended between the past and present is Ardesia Nero Chiselled, the surface from the Laminam I Naturali collection, used on some of the components of the kitchen, such as the island and doors. It is a unique choice which has generated profound harmony with the space through dialogue with the extensive presence of wood, and at the same time imposes itself as a distinctive and high-impact presence.

There is an impressive, living materiality which also draws its strength from the history of this material: the slate slabs which Ligurian quarrymen obtained by manually splitting the larger blocks. Laminam has preserved the peculiarities of that artisan process, alongside the compact, silky nature of the material, its vibrant black color enhanced by the tiny depressions and reliefs which animate the surface of the slab.

It is a surface which amazes with its extraordinary intensity and the power to evoke far-off places, images, and stories around a fireplace.

In Attico Courmayeur, its intense dialog with wood is an example of extraordinary coexistence of materials, where each enhances the other. The only apparent contrast of the colors – the warmer and more welcoming wood, the more refined and majestic Ardesia Nero Chiselled – results in a harmonious and coherent combination, leaving a lasting impression in the eyes and spirit of those who gaze upon it.

You feel enveloped by a living and reassuring veil, which almost seems to protect the inhabitants.
