The visionary Laminam concept kitchen created by designer Andrea Federici at SICAM

October 2024 – Laminam and Andrea Federici have chosen SICAM to present the new Concept Kitchen in Gemini Acero total look, an innovative design proposal which brings out the extraordinary application potential of the ceramic surface. Panels, doors, countertops, internal accessories, drawer linings: aesthetic continuity in the kitchen does exist, and it speaks the language of Laminam’s Gemini collection.

Versatile and sustainable solutions, the results of a production and design philosophy which transforms the kitchen into a visionary, welcoming living space which is beneficial for both people and the environment.

Founder of Andrea Federici Consulting, Andrea Federici has distinguished himself with his ability to combine form and function with cutting-edge solutions.

His partnership with Laminam began in 2018: “I consider Laminam to be a benchmark in the ceramics sector – its pioneering approach, both from the point of view of aesthetics and technology, is a key element in my creative process, and represents a key ally in my continuous search to move design forward and innovate,” states Federici, who will be unveiling a Concept Kitchen at SICAM which was created as an application proposal for kitchen design.

A Kitchen in Gemini Acero Total Look

One of the stand-outs among the cutting-edge aspects of Andrea Federici’s kitchen is the use of twO by Laminam surfaces, whose incredibly thin 2 mm thickness allows them to be curved, transforming the ceramic slab from a two-dimensional material to a three-dimensional one.

An emblematic example of this versatility is represented by the sinuous design of the front portion of the kitchen, which features a dual curve clad entirely with a 2 mm slab, and thanks to the light weight of twO, the drawer and door fronts have also been covered with this material.

Laminam’s aesthetic continuity then extends to all the other areas of the kitchen where, using Gemini Acero in different thicknesses, it has also been possible to create countertops, the cutlery rack, drawer linings, and even a spice organizer box: accessories which not only improve the practicality of the kitchen, but demonstrate that design is not restricted to flat surfaces, with the ability to be molded and adapted to different requirements. Some parts of the sink, on the other hand, are covered with Keyboard in 333×200 mm size, a new modular decorative element composed of very thin strips which lend a sense of dynamism to the entire design.

This approach has allowed for the creation of a harmonious and consistent environment, where every single element integrates perfectly with the others. A visionary offering, which emphasizes Laminam in a strong and distinctive color, chosen to anticipate upcoming furnishing trends: Acero is, indeed, the brightest, most sophisticated shade of the Gemini collection, which captures a palette of intense and captivating colors on its surface. This tone, rich and vibrant, transfers the inspiration of the natural elements from which it originates to room finishes and furniture projects.

The twO by Laminam brand, which the new Slate collection has recently been added to, brings the world’s thinnest surfaces to the interior design and fabrication sector, to create infinitely versatile, variform, original, and inspired ways of living.
